Previous 2012 Winter Tournament details containing some FAQ on last structure & media: https://toygamers.forumotion.com/t309-2012-seasonal-tournament
Structure Tournament [Main] recap
- Round 1-5 (team of 16 per server:
- Start with 16 members.
- Split with 2 groups of 8 forming Group A and Group B.
- In Group A - 2 separated duels are held > 2 winners fight each other to represent Group A.
- Same thing happens in Group B to find a representative for Group B.
- Group A winner fights Group B winner to compete under Final 8 category.
Depending on how many guilds and individuals rsvp in advance all or less amounts of teams will be used for this upcoming tournament.
In the likelihood an entire guild of 500 wishes to participate; there will be 2 sets of 16 teams that will fill 32 sPvP servers and combat a 1 vs 1 duel match with within rounds 1-5.
Due to sPvP time limit, these may take no longer than 05-06 minutes per person and each participant in each team gets ONLY ONE life per round. If both players hit the time limit, then whoever has above 75% hp advances. If both have 100% then they will call a draw and the server team referee will pair them up with someone that is not the same person.
This structured tournament will resemble a lot like the ones in an anime called Dragon Ball Z which two people are paired to fight for a goal until there are no more contestants and you end up with one winner.
Since I am sponsoring this event; depending on the large-small quantity of individuals who show up, I will require volunteer referees. Guilds that participate with over 256 members may, in their own discretion, use their officers to administrate each of their teams using these guidelines. The rest must have a volunteered referee accompany them to communicate with me who advances into the next round.
Each listed referee will be in charge of giving an objective fair score based on performance. Please respect them and listen fully well to them.
The score a referee will give to you will be either a Pass or Fail. If the contestant passes, he/she will advance into the next round, and so on until all 5 rounds are accounted for and each team as shown by the example tournament picture above (in-progress) have reached the final round.- Start with 16 members.
- DISCLAIMER:
ALL REFEREES WILL BE GIVEN ONE WEEK ADVANCE NOTICE ONCE THE SHEET HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND THE 15 MEMBERS THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR. IF A MEMBER SIGNS UP FOR THE EVENT BUT IS A NO-SHOW, REFEREES MUST MARK FAIL ON THEIR SLOT SO THEIR OPPONENT DEFAULT WINS TO THE NEXT ROUND. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO ASK ME VIA TS3/VENT/SKYPE/FACEBOOK OR HERE!
- Final Round (Rounds 6-7):
Team referee's /whisper Master Saber and tell me the winner of each team.
I will take these 8-16 finalists and evaluate their performance during this round and record/live-stream each match segment. In the end, we will have 2 contestants remaining that will both progress toward the Semi-National Round.
- Semi-National Round and National Round:
- This round will consist of myself, the winning GvG leader/voted representative, 2 Finalists and 12 first come/first serve referee's. Everyone else will have to wait for the video to be released to see the awesome battle. (unless someone volunteers in broadcasting it on twitch).
- This battle restriction is 15-30mins long depending on skill/health/build for both opponents.
- The 2 Finalists will duke it to represent the Semi-National Round winner. Once he/she is chosen, then he/she will have to face two more players for completion points.
- The Tournament Semi-finalist will combat the GvG winning leader for ONE prize point. (I will explain GvG below tournament details so those interested can partake in GvG & encourage other servers to sign up).
- The Nationalist Winner will gain ONE Point and then have a chance to challenge me for the ultimate tournament winner 2013 title.
National Round (Ultimate Round)
The winner of the last battle gets to proudly stand up against Master Saber's (My) character. IF the contestant out-bests Bear, he/she will gain ONE point.- This round will consist of myself, the winning GvG leader/voted representative, 2 Finalists and 12 first come/first serve referee's. Everyone else will have to wait for the video to be released to see the awesome battle. (unless someone volunteers in broadcasting it on twitch).

Re: 2013 Seasonal Tournament
- GvG Partial Tournament:
It is encouraged for Guilds to use http://gw2gvg.com/ to arrange & stay updated over these battles in real time.Depending on how many guilds sign up to agree for this will determine how many fights will be arranged. This partial GvG tournament will be held on an un-contested map at the southern portion below Victor's/Hero's (whatever it's called on other maps).Rules:1. No interruptions.2. Anything goes.3. The number fighting must be agreed by both guild leaders such as 1v1, 5v5, 10v10, 20v20, FullvFull options. If we have a lot of FA winners, then higher guild zerg battles are called for until only 1 remaining guild zerg lives. The remaining guild leader will win ONE point and have a chance to participate in the main sPvP tournament for 2 other points under the National Final Round.

Re: 2013 Seasonal Tournament
I have considered that there will be a number issue so I have tweaked the Dec 19 tournament a bit to satisfy means + add to the exciting factor for the community.
December Bonus: If your guild has challenged another guild from another server within Dec 01-18 Post Here the guild names + scores + source link (YouTube or gw2gvg.org) and I will tally server wins/loses per guild.
On Tournament day (19 Dec):
Large guilds that sign-up from both sides will have a shot at recorded/live OS and I will tally server wins/loses per guild.
According to the following chart: Competing Guilds whom are leading in OS, Rsvp'd from another league, and leading Bonus will have an 8 team skirmish within sPvP Custom Arena which will tally up scores! This allows me, Extra live streamer & assigned Referee to participate as a neutral team and spectate the battle!
I will provide prizes for 2nd and 3rd place winners though it might/might not be gems. First prize guild gets 2,000 Gems + Semi-Finalist Rep Position in sPvP 21DEC for a chance to earn another whopping 4,000 gems!
Format on December Bonus:
Date---------Guild Name---Score---Guild Name----Size
12/01/2013 rawr [paw] 0-0 derp [omg] 15v15 source: www.youTube...... or www.gw2gvg......
12/02/2013 rawr [paw] 0-0 derp [omg] 15v15
12/03/2013 rawr [paw] 0-0 derp [omg] 15v15
12/05/2013 rawr [paw] 0-0 derp [omg] 15v15
12/062013 rawr [paw] 0-0 derp [omg] 15v15
12/07/2013 rawr [paw] 0-0 derp [omg] 15v15
etc.
This should increase the fun incentive to those already GvG'ing or new to it throughout this month for the upcoming fights to come!
I'm currently doing this solo. If you have advice on what can be improved for this tournament then please let me know!
I need a live-streamer volunteer, and tons of advertising help!
